(Big League Politics) – Legislation introduced in South Dakota that would criminalize the drugging and mutilation of “transgender” children was killed in a state senate committee today by Republican lawmakers.
Although the Republicans all claimed to strongly oppose drugging and mutilating children, a majority of them on the Senate Health and Human Services Committee felt that their free market principles were more important than protecting children from systemic LGBT predation.
Sen. Wayne Steinhauer, a Republican from Hartford, had the nerve to invoke family values when he made the motion to kill the legislation.
“I believe the building block of society is the family,” Steinhauer said.
“I struggle to see this as a South Dakota issue,” said Sen. Helene Duhamel, a Republican of Rapid City, who also opposed the legislation.
The legislation was rejected by a 5-2 vote, and the bill’s primary sponsor Rep. Fred Deutsch (R-SD) does not plan to re-introduce anything similar during this legislative session.
“I’m done for the year,” he said. “I don’t like to bring more than one controversial bill per year.”
The state house approved the bill last month by a 46-23 vote. It would have made it a criminal act for doctors to prescribe drugs such as puberty blockers to children if they are deemed transgender. It would have also criminalized genital mutilation surgery from being performed on transgender children by healthcare officials.
Sen. Phil Jensen, a Republican from Rapid City, noted that there was immense public support for the bill. He said his constituents were in favor of it by an overwhelming 20-to-1 margin. Nevertheless, the Republicans chose to kill the legislation and do the bidding of their opponents.
Because transgender surgeries and maintenance is becoming a big business, the American Medical Association stood in opposition to the legislation. Subversive left-wing groups, such as the American Civil Liberties Union, are gloating as a result of Republicans killing the legislation.
“It’s time we stop these attacks and the very real harm they cause to transgender youth across our state,” said Libby Skarin, policy director of the ACLU of South Dakota. “Let this be a signal to the South Dakota Legislature that discrimination against a marginalized group is a distraction from the needs of the state and hurts us all.”
The Republican Party has demonstrated why conservatives never seem to conserve much of anything. LGBT predators will still have free reign to indoctrinate children and induct them into their satanic lifestyle in South Dakota, thanks to the GOP.
