According to reports, the victim, 74-year-old Serge Fournier, asked a woman, Cadesha Bishop, 25, who was swearing at another passenger to “be nicer to the passengers”. Fournier, who was carrying a folded wheeled grocery cart, then exited the bus via the front steps. Bishop violently shoved Fournier in the back causing him to fly off the bus onto the sidewalk, hitting head first.
Fournier initially refused medical care but went to the hospital later for treatment. He reportedly remained hospitalized until his death on May 3, Bishop was arrested May 6 and faces a charge of open murder on an elderly-vulnerable person.

Excerpt from KVVU-TV report:
…According to her arrest warrant, on Mar. 21, police were called to North 13th Street and Fremont Street to respond to a battery case. There, they found the victim, a 74-year-old man whose head was bleeding.
He told police a woman, later identified as Bishop, was cursing at other passengers on the Regional Transportation Commission bus. He said he made a comment to her as he passed in the aisle, on the way to the door. After he turned to face the door, Bishop pushed him with both hands, causing him to fall, and hit his head on the concrete sidewalk. He said he couldn’t put his hands down to break his fall and he never touched any of the steps. His head landed eight feet from the bus door, according to police.
Witnesses said they saw Bishop arguing, and the man asking her to be nicer to passengers. They said she pushed the man onto the sidewalk. She then left the scene with her child, without helping him. RTC’s surveillance cameras captured what happened on video, the report said…
Excerpt from KSVN-TV report on Fournier:
…Trevor Taylor tried to hold back the tears as he remembered his 74-year old friend, Serge Fournier.
Taylor said, “He was an excellent neighbor. Very nice, religious person.”…
Taylor said, “After he was pushed off the bus, he came here for a day or two and then his pain was so great he had to call an ambulance — went to the hospital.”
Fournier spent a month in the hospital before he passed away. The Clark County coroner determined he died from complications connected to the push.
Taylor said, “No matter what his age, she should not have done that. People need a little more patience than what they have these days.”
Fournier leaves behind a wife who is disabled. Ken Mallen knew Fournier and says his loss is still being felt.
“I know it caused several financial problems for his wife,” Mallen said…

Elderly Man Dies Weeks After Being Pushed Off a Bus
Detectives Seek Witnesses of the Incident
On March 21, 2019 at approximately 4:49 p.m., LVMPD dispatch received a call of an elderly male being pushed out of a bus near Fremont Street and 13th Street. Arriving officers located the victim who refused any medical attention at the scene. The suspect was not immediately located. The victim self-transported to UMC later that night due to his injuries.
On May 3, 2019, detectives were notified by the victim’s family that he had died from his injuries on April 23, 2019. The LVMPD Homicide Section took over the investigation and determined that the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Cadesha Bishop, was argumentative with the people inside of the bus. When the bus stopped to allow passengers off, Bishop and victim got into a verbal argument. As the victim attempted to exit, Bishop shoved him out of the bus and onto the ground.
Bishop was located and arrested without incident on May 6, 2019. Bishop was transported to CCDC where she faces a charge for open murder on an elderly-vulnerable person. A booking photo of Bishop accompanies this release.
