(TeaParty.org) – President Donald Trump campaigned on the top promise of building a great wall on the U.S.-Mexico border to put an end to illegal immigration – it was such a powerful promise that “build the wall” became a familiar change at rallies.
Now, we just made a huge leap closer to restoring our country’s borders.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has kicked off the process of testing the border wall prototypes, to see which one is best suited to become the main model. Eight sample walls were built over the span of 30 days in October, and six companies have been in charge in constructing those prototypes, reports ABC News. Four of the models are made from concrete and four were constructed with “other materials.”
Testing officially started on Nov. 27, but today was the first day of physical testing, according to Carlos Diaz, CBP’s public affairs branch chief for the southwest border.
The prototypes are being tested for their abilities to deter breaching and scaling, which includes jackhammers, saws, and hydraulic tools that could be used to infiltrate. The walls were built 18 to 30 feet in height. In order to deter illegals from digging tunnels under the wall, the administration required the walls to be built six feet deep – perfect for the grave of liberals’ multicultural dreams.
The wall is not without its critics – many in Trump’s base who might be getting impatient will be delighted at this news. Democrats, of course, are blasting this border wall project as a waste of money.
Barbara Lee, D-Calif., tweeted: “Trump’s wall is a waste of money and an insult to our values,” with the hashtags “#NoBanNoWall” and “#JointSession.”
Let me be clear: Trump’s border wall is a waste of money and I will block funding for it.https://t.co/qpZZZUu4Nn

As always, the Democrats are wrong – according to the Center for Immigration Studies, anyone can see for themselves that a border wall is going to save the American economy a lot of money.
“Illegal border-crossers create an average fiscal burden of approximately $74,722 during their lifetimes, excluding any costs for their U.S.-born children. If a border wall stopped between 160,000 and 200,000 illegal crossers — 9 to 12 percent of those expected to successfully cross in the next decade — the fiscal savings would equal the $12 to $15 billion cost of the wall.”
Here are several points to remember about the cost of illegal immigration:
- The vast majority of illegals crossing our border only have modest or little education – they haven’t completed high school or even any high school education.
- It’s agreed that the cost illegal aliens incur on the federal government is much more than they pay in taxes. Taking into account immigrants’ education levels, the taxes they pay and the services they use, its shows a net fiscal drain of $74,722 per illegal crosser.
- If you include the descendants of the illegal-crossers, that drain rises to $94,391 each.
- According to the Institute for Defense Analyses, 170,000 illegal border crossings were made in 2015, which means there could be 1.7 million over the next decade. If we stopped even just half of those illegal crossings, it would save the American taxpayers $64 billion – several times the cost of the wall.
Face it, liberals – border walls work! Just ask anyone living near the section of the border in Yuma, Arizona. According to USA Today, agents were arresting an average of 800 illegal aliens per day and still couldn’t stop the thousands of trucks full of criminals and drugs pouring into our country. Once a barrier was built and security was beefed up, it put an end to all of that.
How many people successfully crossed the Berlin wall? Over the course of 28 years, only 5,000 are thought to have successfully crossed the wall.
Then there’s the Israeli West Bank Barrier, consisting of both wall and barbed wire fence, which extremely effective and has made it tremendously difficult for terrorists to sneak through.
We were all taught in public schools how badly the Great Wall of China failed to keep out the Mongol invasion – but truth is, the wall was EXTREMELY successful. Most of the barbarians’ attempts to cross the wall failed, except only if they had massive standing armies. Throughout its 2,300-year history, the wall protected China almost impermeably the entire time.
The walls of the ancient city of Constantinople stood for more than 1,000 years before military incompetence caused the city to fall to the Muslim hordes.
These prototypes need to be absolutely effective. Even if they are just half or a quarter as effective as all the other great walls of history, America’s economy and our culture will come roaring back for centuries to come!
