(Gateway Pundit) – Fox News contributor Sara Carter reports Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will wrap up his investigation into the handling of the FBI’s Hillary Clinton email investigation next month.
Carter reveals the probe includes interviews with former top and current FBI and Justice Department officials.
According to several government officials, the scope of DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s investigation into the FBI’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information would likely go beyond just the collection of government issued cell phones and emails. Horowitz’s investigation, which quietly began last January, is expected to wrap up by mid-March. He has interviewed dozens of witnesses, including now removed FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, former FBI Director James Comey, FBI agent Strzok, FBI lawyer Page and other current and former FBI officials.
Carter recently told Fox News host Sean Hannity that Horowtiz is investigating whether or not outgoing FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe asked bureau agents to “change their 302s.”
PJ Media reports:
“I have been told tonight by a number of sources … that McCabe may have asked FBI agents to actually change their 302s,” Carter told host Sean Hannity.
The 302 form contains information from the notes an FBI agent takes during an interview of a subject. It is used by FBI agents to “report or summarize the interviews that they conduct.”
“So basically every time an FBI agent interviews a witness, they have to go back and file a report,”Carter explained.
A day after the New York Times reported FBI Director Christopher Wray confronted McCabe over unspecified findings in Horowitz’s report, the Washington Post reveals the embattled bureau official is being probed over his role in examining emails found on former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s laptop.
McCabe’s announcement came one day after his boss read the FISA abuse memo. While experts believe McCabe being implicated in the four-page document led to his departure, the New York Times says it was another report that caught Wray’s attention.
Last June, former lawmaker Jason Chaffetz reported Horowitz was investigating Lynch’s role in the Clinton email probe.
Daily Mail UK reported:
The Justice Department’s office of inspector general is said to be probing former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s role in the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s handling of emails as Secretary of State.
The DoJ watchdog’s probe was revealed Saturday by House oversight committee chairman Jason Chaffetz in an interview with Fox & Friends, and joins a Senate Judiciary Committee inquiry into Lynch.
Chaffetz, a Republican representative from Utah, said DoJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz ‘has been diving into this’ and is expected to release a report on Lynch’s oversight of the now-closed FBI investigations in ‘the first part of next year.’
