(Christian News Alerts) – President Trump has been working to try and make big changes that put Americans first. Resistance from the Left has made it a challenge for the president to steer the country in the right direction. Luckily, the Supreme Court was here to help.
In Washington, the Supreme Court ruled a temporary approval of Trump’s controversial Travel Ban. The order was held up by the swing Justice, Anthony Kennedy, according to Reuters. This is considered by many as a major victory for President Trump and the safety of the United States. While this may be just a temporary revival, it could easily turn into something long term and substantial.
The lower courts initially put a hold on the ban. Kennedy’s decision will give the nine justices more time to take Monday’s challenge into consideration.
On Monday, the lower courts concluded that refugees can come into the United States from around the world if they receive an offer from a “resettlement agency.” This finding was in stark contrast to the June ruling.
The justices stated back in June that the ban could be applied only to people who do not have a “bona fide” relationship with someone in the United States. As you can probably imagine, this was not enough for many on the Left.
Hawaii led the charge behind states like California as they proceeded to try to file legal charges after President Trump signed the secondary order in March. There were multiple arguments for why this ban was wrong that range from debatable, to downright nonsense.
A conversation could be had about whether or not resettlement agency offers count towards immigrants. That is something that can be debated logically.
However, Hawaii Attorney General Douglas Chin stated that “The Trump administration has ended its odd and ill-advised quest to ban grandmas from the country”
This is not how a conversation is started–this is how it is ended. Making bold claims about how Trump is trying to ‘ban grandmas’ is meant to invoke emotions.
No one would want to see poor grandma kicked out of this country, would they? That is the type of emotion that Democrats try to feed on, and it has no place in the legal system. Arguments need to be based on facts, not emotion, and Justice Kennedy saw that Monday.
The Supreme Court temporarily approves of Trump’s controversial Travel Ban. Was it ever really about Muslims?
The Supreme Court will have to make a decision that is going to last for a set period of time, instead of just a temporary approval. However, this is a step in the right direction. Regardless of how many times the Democrats call it a “Muslim ban,” it doesn’t make it true.
Initially, on March 6th the order banned travelers from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen for 90 days. These areas were deemed hotbeds of terroristic activity by the Obama administration. The travel ban acknowledged difficulties vetting individuals from those countries, and the risk posed to the US as a result. Refugees would have to wait 120 days in order to come into the country so that the borders could be secured.
The goal of the travel ban is to prevent another terrorist style attack like the one on September 11th, 2001. As the tragedy and monumental loss of life reached its 16-year anniversary, the nation is reminded that threats still loom against America.
