(Gateway Pundit) –
+Donald Trump won New York state with over 60% of the votes giving him a comfortable lead over Senator Ted Cruz in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination.
Trump walked away with at least 89 of the 95 delegates and more than a half a million votes. Senator Cruz unfortunately won no delegates after finishing third and winning only 15% of the vote.
Governor John Kasich picked up a few delegates.
Kasich released a statement last night after the election.
The Ohio Governor called on voters to help him save the Republican Party from Donald Trump.
…Because the Republican Party has done SO MUCH to help American families and block the Obama agenda the past few years.
Team Kasich arguing 2nd place in NY means he can best take on Trump. Still way behind Cruz and Trump in delegates. pic.twitter.com/4aSJ8r7k9P

Kasich also says he is the best to take on Donald Trump.
Going forward, polls show John Kasich is consistently the best candidate to take on Trump. 2nd in CT, MD, NJ. And 2nd tonight in NY.
