(TeaParty.org) – The deep state citizen surveillance system did not end with Obama. Nor did silencing the press.
You’d have to be living under a rock not to see the clear effort on the part of the global elite to silence dissident voices that seek to expose their plans and defend the sovereignty of our nation and the unique liberty guaranteed in our constitution.
They fear us.
And now with Trump in the White House, they’re working harder than ever to silent the powerful independent voices that have popped up over the last few decades, as new information technology has allowed us to speak up and speak out about abuses of power and widespread deception being perpetuated by the mainstream media.
Unfortunately, even with Trump in the White House, their efforts continue, as The American Dream reports:
Many were hoping that once Barack Obama was out of office we would see less of this Big Brother surveillance nonsense, but instead it seems to be getting even worse. In fact, the Department of Homeland Security has just announced that it intends to compile a comprehensive list of hundreds of thousands of “journalists, editors, correspondents, social media influencers, bloggers etc.”, and collect any “information that could be relevant” about them. So if you have a website, an important blog or you are just very active on social media, the Department of Homeland Security is going to put you on a list and will start collecting information about you. The DHS has already announced that it will hire a contractor to aid in monitoring media coverage, and they will definitely need plenty of help because it is going to be a very big job…
He references a recent article in Forbes magazine that details the Department of Homeland Security’s disturbing new plan to compile a list of top media influencers, major bloggers, and journalists, and track and monitor these entities and individuals.
The word “Orwellian” lets them off easy.
Here is what Forbes said:
As part of its “media monitoring,” the DHS seeks to track more than 290,000 global news sources as well as social media in over 100 languages, including Arabic, Chinese and Russian, for instant translation into English. The successful contracting company will have “24/7 access to a password protected, media influencer database, including journalists, editors, correspondents, social media influencers, bloggers etc.” in order to “identify any and all media coverage related to the Department of Homeland Security or a particular event.”
“Any and all media coverage,” as you might imagine, is quite broad and includes “online, print, broadcast, cable, radio, trade and industry publications, local sources, national/international outlets, traditional news sources, and social media.”
This is beyond creepy and disturbing. American journalists and commentators should never be at risk of government tracking and surveillance simply because they chose to uncover and speak out about the truth they discover, or share views that the government might not like.
This is precisely what the First Amendment guarantees–freedom of the press. This sets a dangerous new president for the way the government can control the dissemination of information, and it’s one from which we might never recover.
However, this simply means that now, more than ever, it is utterly important to keep speaking the truth to maintain our precious republic as those who seek to destroy it are ramping up their efforts.
We can’t do it without you–are you with us?
