The Tea Party must lead the move to defund ObamaCare
(Dr. Jerome Corsi) – As Congress prepares to go on August recess, the Tea Party must prepare to go to town hall meetings and to meet with your congressional representatives in your home districts and states to deliver the message that the Tea Party demands Republicans must vote by the end of September to defund Obamacare, or we will oppose their re-election efforts.
There is no more central issue to the reason the Tea Party was founded that to demand Obamacare be put to and end. There is no more effective way to end the scheming of Democrats to enforce Obamacare against the will of the people than to take away the money Obama needs to implement ObamaCare.
Without funding, Obamacare is dead in the water.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) delivered a compelling message last week that defunding Obama care now may be the last best chance to rid the country of Obamacare.
“I see this as, quite arguably, our last best shot at stopping Obamacare,” Lee insisted.
“I mean look, they rammed this thing through a series of procedural techniques that will make your head spin if you analyze them, even just as you review them, in 2010. They did it without a single Republican vote. So, unlike every other major new program, new programs of this magnitude are usually adopted with bipartisan support, this was rammed through with one party’s loyal, unflinching, unquestioning support.”
All we need is for House Republicans to stand their ground and vote to defund ObamaCare.
The House needs to plan a continuing resolution by the end of September that funds all government except for ObamaCare. But if Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats want to force a crisis that ends up shutting down the government, then so be it.
Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will likely scream that shutting down the government will harm Republicans in the polls.
This is what the Democrats, the mainstream media, and establishment Republican pundits like Karl Rove would like the Tea Party to believe. Most Tea Party patriots would beg to differ.
Shutting down the government because of a funding crisis could only be more of a plus if the federal government could be shut down permanently, with virtually all the bloated self-serving bureaucrats in Washington given pink slips.
Tea Party patriots worked hard to elect to the House in 2010 a majority of Republicans that we believed would go to Washington with the goal of limiting federal spending and reducing the size of the federal government.
We should remind all Republicans in Congress, including Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, that patriots of the Tea Party will remember in the 2014 mid-term elections how Republicans vote in this critical need to defund Obamacare now.
If we get enough Republican members of the House and Senate to understand that defunding Obamacare is a line Tea Party patriots have drawn in the sand.
Any Republican in the House or Senate who votes to continue funding for Obamacare must be defeated in 2014. Republicans who vote with the Democrats in Congress to continue Obamacare funding are no better than Democrats and should not be permitted to remain in office, regardless who takes their place.
“If we don’t fight this, we’ll become like the unarmed English Bobby who, upon seeing the commission of a crime, yells ‘stop, or I’ll yell stop again!’” Sen. Lee added.
“We’ll become this sort of feckless political entity. It is as big of a deal as I’ve seen, certainly, in my two and a half years in the Senate. But I think this is one of the biggest political developments of the last decade. There has never been a more critical time for the grassroots to become active. The grassroots will make all the difference in the world. The grassroots can make or break this. I think they will make it.”
Sen. Lee is right: Voting to for a continuing resolution that funds Obamacare is equivalent to voting for Obamacare itself.”
Will you stand with me on this issue?
Let’s tell the Republican leadership in Congress and Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell that the Tea Party will no longer support Republicans in Congress who compromise with Democrats over Obamacare.
