(Christian News Alerts) – The threat of ISIS is now global. Numerous countries around the world have faced terrorist attacks head-on, including the United States, and things do not seem to be improving.
A pro-ISIS group, called Wafa Media Foundation, just released an alarming image displaying the pope beheaded, according to The Daily Mail. This image is a follow-up to one released a few days ago showing a jihadist driving toward the Vatican. A disturbing picture is being painted for events that could unfold if there are not proper precautions set up and monitored.
The first poster showed a masked person with a gun and a backpack in the car. The person in the picture is driving towards St. Peter’s Basilica.
The top of the image reads “Christmas blood” with the caption “so wait…” at the bottom. Ominously, the bottom line is colored red.
Reports show that the first picture appeared on Telegram, an anonymous messaging app. It was initially reported by a terrorist watchdog group called MEMRI. The first image, as imagined, is causing concern on a global scale.
Posters such as this one do not directly say that there will be an attack on the Pope or Vatican. Instead, they act as a catalyst to try and drive individuals to commit the acts demonstrated on the poster. They are a direct form of ISIS propaganda meant to incite violence.
The second poster to come out from the Wafa Media Foundation shows a terrorist standing over a headless prisoner in orange. In the image, the terrorist is holding a knife with one hand and touching the head with his other hand. Written next to the head is the pope’s name, Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
In the background, there is a generic looking city, except for a pickup truck full of terrorists sporting an ISIS flag. The main reason for concern is the fact that ISIS members habitually attack around Christmas.
In 2016, Anis Amri drove a truck into a Berlin festival market on December 15th. The attack was seen as a movement demonstrating that ISIS members can attack anywhere, at any time.
Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, sparked their 2015 terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California at a work Christmas party. The attack extended beyond the party and eventually ended with both husband and wife shot dead to stop them from their murderous rampage.
These posters are not the only instances of Wafa Media Foundation pushing pro-ISIS propaganda. According to PJ Media, last week, the foundation released a poster called “The Specter of Terrorism.” Roughly translated it read, “You will pay a very expensive price for your war on Islam.”
The poster continued, “‘We will take revenge for the blood of Muslims on your land, we will kill the young before the older watch this.”
The concern is growing as Thanksgiving comes to a close this week. Security will likely see an increase around the pope, just to ensure that no lone wolf decides to make a world-shattering move.
