(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – A brand new investigative summary released by the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General on Tuesday has revealed that a now retired senior FBI official was leaking information to members of the mainstream media in exchange for receiving gifts during the period of 2014-2016.
According to a report put out by Infowars, the title of the summary is, “Findings of Misconduct by a Then-Senior FBI Official for Having Numerous Unauthorized Contacts with the Media, and for Accepting Unauthorized Gifts from Members of the Media.
Wow. That’s a mouthful, right?
In this report, the DOJ goes on to explain that they started the investigation after the FBI’s Insider Threat Unit sent them a tip that a then-senior FBI official had “numerous contacts with members of the media between January and November 2016 in violation of FBI policy.”
“Before the onset of the investigation, the Inspector General found hints that the high-ranking FBI official was getting kickbacks from media members in exchange for insider information,” Infowars says.

The report then goes on to say, “The matter is among the OIG investigations referenced on page 430 of the OIG’s Review of Allegations Regarding Various Actions by the Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in Advance of the 2016 Election,” which came out in June of 2018.” (Screen shot here).
Then, on page 430 of the report, we are told that several employees of the FBI were in communication with members of the press throughout the year of 2016, which created a huge problem for investigators who were searching for the leaks.
“The large number of FBI employees who were in contact with journalists during this time period impacted our ability to identify the sources of leaks,” the 2018 OIG report revealed.
“For example,” the report adds. “During the periods we reviewed, we identified dozens of FBI employees that had contact with members of the media. Attached to this report as Attachments G and H are link charts that reflects the volume of communications that we identified between FBI employees and media representatives in April/May and October 2016.”
The investigation came to the conclusion that numerous employees of the FBI were in violation of bureau policies and Department ethic rules by accepting tickets to major sporting events, going out to dinner or for drinks with media members, and going golfing.
“According to the OIG, the FBI’s cozy relationship with U.S. media represents a “cultural attitude” within the agency and recommends it either sufficiently educates its employees about its media contact policy and the Department’s ethics rules or that it ensures its disciplinary penalties are sufficient to deter such improper conduct,” the report says (screen shot here).
Given the fact that the FBI was working hard on the left’s anti-Trump agenda at the time, it’s a safe bet to assume that much of the communication that was happening between the FBI and the media was about sabotaging his presidential campaign.
The retired FBI official who is mentioned in the OIG summary has denied a request for a voluntary interview with the Inspector General.
“The OIG does not have the authority to compel or subpoena testimony from former Department employees, including those who retire or resign during the course of an OIG investigation,” they explain in the report.
The real question is whether or not the rest of us will ever learn the name of the individual who was taking gifts from reporters. This person needs to be held accountable for their crimes and the only way that can happen is for the identity of this individual to be revealed.
Another report from GP mentions a few other tidbits from the summary.
“The OIG also found that the Senior FBI Official violated federal regulations and FBI policy when the Senior FBI Official accepted tickets from members of the media to two black tie dinner events, one valued at $225 and the other valued at $300, and received transportation to one event from a reporter, all without prior authorization,” the report says.
According to the OIG, the official in question ended up retiring before they could conduct an interview.
Here’s to hoping for more transparency and that folks are going to wake up to the truth.
