(Angry Patriot Movement) – President-Elect Donald Trump is again casting aside all the rules in politics. What he’s planning to do on January 20 has shocked not just liberals but GOP career politicians too!
Donald Trump is going to write his inauguration speech himself! The president-elect told visitors to his Mar-a-Lago club in South Florida he is going to draw inspiration from both Presidents Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy when drafting his swearing in speech, CBS News reports.
President-Elect Trump reportedly told a visitor to Mar-a-Lago that Ronald Reagan had “incredible style” when detailing why he finds the conservative hero inspirational. Trump also referenced that the 100th anniversary of JFK’s birth is drawing near.
While enjoying time with family and friends over the holidays at his Florida estate, Trump is still hard at work on his transition into the White House. He is currently busy researching veterans’ health issues. The president-elect told visitors to his Florida club he is going to make veterans’ affairs a top priority in his administration.
President-Elect Trump’s inauguration address is going to be “short” but impactful, according to a CNN report quoting presidential historian Douglas Brinkley, who recently met with the Republican. Trump does not reportedly want to cause a burden on the thousands of Americans who will be huddled in the cold to watch him take the oath of office.
“He wants to write the inaugural himself,” Douglas Brinkley added. “He doesn’t want it to be long. He would like it to be a shorter one. He doesn’t want people standing out in the cold.”
Trump is believed to have spent part of the day yesterday working on his inaugural address. Earlier this week his transition team announced Stephen Miller, a Trump policy aide, was going to help the president- elect work on the important and tone-setting address.
Stephen Miller helped Donald Trump write his speech for the Republican National Convention in July. While the president-elect is still reportedly going to accept input from his transition team, Trump is determined to use his own words and views to craft his swearing in speech.
Topics expected to be covered in Trump’s inaugural address include border security, the state of the military, the economy, the United States education system, infrastructure, and the outsourcing of jobs in America. The address is expected to be uplifting and optimistic about the future of the country.
“They will be talking about uniting America, bringing Americans together. We are now in the post-politics, post-campaign season, and that’s the messaging around this inaugural,” said Boris Epshteyn, a spokesman for Donald Trump’s inauguration committee.
